Intro to Calisthenics: Developing Strength and Control through Body-Weight Movements The essence of body-weight training and the ultimate way for anyone to build strength, flexibility and bodily awareness. This type of training has obvious transferable benefit and can be a perfect complement to any physical endeavour one may wish to pursue. We will focus on pushing and pulling for the upper body while also addressing the many ways one can develop very strong legs by introducing squatting, sprinting and jumping. Designed by a Yoga Practitioner who recognized more than chaturangas were needed to develop a stronger and more resilient system. This is a series for anyone with a body who wants to be stronger in a functional way. The person looking to leave with the necessary tools to begin designing their own strength program.
Week 1: Planking and Hanging
Week 2: Pushing and Pulling (beginner - intermediate)
Week 3: Handstands and Levers
Week 4: Pushing and Pulling (introduction to advanced movements)
